Start: Wednesday, 27th October 2021, 15:00-16:30
Online (in English)
The online course aims to provide insights into the mutual perceptions of people from different European and Southern and Eastern Mediterranean (SEM) countries. Using concrete examples, this video-based and interactive course enables participants to discuss their own and common identities, values and fears, as well as the influence of religion on their views and of different media on their opinions, and to discuss effective measures to combat radicalisation and to live better together in multicultural cities and societies with peers from other cultures. Participants learn to adopt other perspectives; they acquire and test important intercultural competences and train their English discussion skills. The course duration is 4 weeks, with an estimated time commitment of 2-3 hours of self-study per week. One module will take place each week (4 modules in total). In addition, two online meetups (90 mins) will be organised to facilitate further real-time small group discussions among participants (27 October and 10 November 2021). The course is jointly organised by the Anna Lindh Foundation and UNIMED.
