
The University Alliance EPICUR invites stakeholders, staff and special guests and experts to the Networking Conference “Diversity of Regions” in Vienna!
From May 18th to 20th, 2022 the EPICUR team of the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (short: BOKU) welcomes eight EPICUR partners from Germany, France, the Netherlands, Greece, Poland and Denmark at the BOKU campus. In addition to internal workshops for teambuilding and in-depth discussions on the different work packages (research, teaching, mobility, interculturality and languages, regions and entrepreneurship, PR, etc.), (vice-)rectors, associated partner networks and invited guests will gather for the conference on May 19th.
BOKU rector, Eva Schulev-Steindl, and Strategic Coordinator and Vice President Jean-Marc Planeix will give introductory speeches and welcome EPICUR’s six new associated partners: Eucor – the European Campus, ICA-CASEE, ICA Network for Central and South East Europe, BSUN – Black Sea Universities Network, AER – the Assembly of the European Regions, ESN – the Erasmus Student Network Europe and ECOLAS – the European Consortium of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
The highlight of the event in Vienna will be two keynote speeches; one by Lilijana Madjar, Director at Regional Development Agency of the Ljubljana Urban Region on the topic of “Regional cooperation” and one by Billy Batware, Regional Academy of the United Nations on “Equity, diversity and inclusion”. EPICUR’s EDI working group will present the action plan before all participants will join the panel discussion.
A formal dinner and cultural activities will bring the conference day to a close.
The Networking Conference will conclude on May 20th with the planting of the EPICUR tree on the BOKU university campus as a symbol for sustainability, biodiversity and a healthy urban climate.
